Kriya on Karen
Karen considers the whole human body to be a miracle. She has a curiosity for anatomy and physiology and believes that our own innate wisdom opens us up to this continual spiral of learning.
Yoga has been a gift. Bhakti yoga has provided an opportunity for her to see that the divine flows in, around and through us. It is the power that we pray to, surrender to, listen to and serve. Just as our body has a matrix, she believes that the universe mirrors this. It webs and weaves through us and provides us with just the right ingredients to blend for ourselves the most divine servings of life.
Karen has been studying and exploring the human body for over 22 years. She is a registered massage therapist and has studied strain/counterstrain, myofascial release, therapeutic touch, reiki, reflexology, auricular acupuncture,Trager and shiatsu. She studied Craniosacral therapy and Somatoemotional Release through the Upledger Institute and Visionary Craniosacral therapy through the Milne Institute.
She is passionate about yoga but teaches in an informal light hearted way. She believes that it is not the attainment of a pose but the approach to the pose that is the most significant element of yoga. This philosophy extends to contemplation and meditation and most importantly, the yoga of our life.
