The Rasa on Rebekka
Since the age of 8 I found myself to be a yogini. That summer of ’69 at Ipperwash, Lake Huron, it was always my preference to join in with the ladies during their Yoga. I remember the complete contentment I felt hanging out, stretching and breathing together with the group in a circle, so simple, so satisfying.
Yoga still allows me to feel my wholeness and it is still one of my favourite ways to visit and connect with others. I’ve enjoyed facilitating at Women’s Retreats, Retreats for Persons Living with HIV , and Goddess Yoga Classes as well as traditional Hatha, Kundalini and Power classes. Presently I am embarking on studying with Sonia Sumar, Yoga for the Special Needs Child, including autism and down syndrome.
I love working and volunteering in Yoga and the Healing Arts. Whether I’m teaching yoga at the prison or offering Aromatherapy Massage at a Healing Retreat, I like working with people on their healing path. I believe Yoga, Meditation and Massage offer us wise tools using our breath and awareness to calm the busy mind and overactive body.
Winter Solstice of 1987 I was privileged and thrilled to be on a Yoga Retreat with 3HO Kundalini’s Guru Deep Singh doing yoga, meditation and ritual in the Mayan Pyramids of Mexico, including Palenque, Tulum, Chitzen Itza and Coba. It was this trip that sealed the deal that I wanted to be a yoga teacher.
Come share with Karen and myself the exotic Mayan Lake Atitlan at Villa Sumaya. Soak in the sounds and beauty of this rain forest as you explore within, stretching and meditating in a safe fun environment. Come along for an adventure of a lifetime.
